Our Favorite Designs of 2020
By Ideawörks Staff
Wow, can you believe this year has almost come to an end? In 2020, we were tasked with various fun, and sometimes challenging, design projects to tackle! We took each one head on and really knocked them out of the park. Check out a couple of our favorite design projects from 2020.
The 5 Barrel Website Redesign
To reach customers effectively, Ideawörks helped establish The 5 Barrel as a quality brand with a unique story by utilizing targeted tactics on various marketing and advertising channels. The team also designed and created a brand new website for the brewery.
The 5 Barrel’s new website features rich photography and content to immerse the viewer in the brand story. The site features a private log-in, giving access to a private area of the site, exclusively for “Bootlegger Members” to find out about upcoming beers and special events.
Dixon School of Arts & Sciences Annual Report
Dixon School of the Arts and Sciences is a local private school that serves at-risk children with a full S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math) curriculum. Ideawörks assisted the school by showing off all their great efforts and achievements through the development and design of their 2020 Annual Report.
Dr. Zimmern Event Invitation
When it came time for Dr. Zimmern to retire from his career in the medical career, Ideawörks received the call to design an invitation set for his retirement dinner event. The team created a beautiful watercolor-inspired design set to fit the Greek-themed dinner event.
PARKPensacola Landing Page
Parking issues aren’t unique to downtown Pensacola, Florida, but it’s an issue that was growing bigger as the district became more and more vibrant, with record visitors, new development and residential growth. When the City of Pensacola selected a new partner to manage its mobility platforms, one of the key tasks was to launch a new parking app, and Ideawörks was tapped to develop a branding and public education strategy to ensure that the launch would go off as seamlessly as possible. The new brand, PARKPensacola, leveraged a mix of the City’s brand colors with the addition of bold, high contrast colors that would work to bring legibility and easy recognition to new signage, decals and marketing materials.
Rather than burying parking app and parking information deep within the city’s website, it was determined that a separate site (accessible as a stand-alone site as well as through the City’s site) for parking with a simple URL would make it easy for residents and visitors to access parking information, download the new app, and read the FAQs. The new site, at www.PARKPensacola.com, is a mobile-responsive site that is easy to navigate from desktop to mobile device, and has proven to be an important hub of information.
CRA Annual Report
Completed in March 2020, the 44-page FY2019 CRA annual report was designed to be used on an ongoing basis as a marketing tool to tell the story about the work of the Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency. Our scope of work for this project included:
- Research and Data Mining
- Copywriting and Copy Editing
- Creative Design
- Infographics
- Professional Photography
- Digital and Print Production
COVID Safety Campaign Decals
These are not your father’s public safety announcements. COVID-19 hit with a vengeance in Q1 2020, and within short order there were any number of posters and flyers providing relevant information on how to be safe. With so much information, many times there was too much going on to catch and hold, attention.
We wanted to create a safety campaign that couldn’t be missed. Our iconic, retro Pensacola Pelican sidewalk decals popped up precisely when and where downtown visitors were walking, with simple, memorable safety messages and the potential to become instant social media magnets. By request, the catchy decal designs were also turned into posters, flyers and social media graphics used by downtown merchants and others to further spread the important safety messages.
Pointe South Branding Package
Our client, Pointe South, needed a full rebrand for their real estate company. Ideawörks was tasked with designing a brand new logo and full marketing collateral package to suit Pointe South’s esteemed team.
